Milwaukee Recreation is renting cross-country skis for use on the trails of Hawthorn Glen,the 23-acre nature center at 1130 N. 60th St. The self-directed,drop-in skiing program will run every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through February 26. The fee per person,which includes skis, boots, and poles, is $5 for city of Milwaukee residents and $10 for non-residents. Children (ages 6 and up) must be accompanied by an adult. A Wisconsin state I.D. or driver’s license must be used as a deposit. Equipment cannot leave Hawthorn Glen and will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis (reservations cannot be made).
